The Most Complete and Overwhelming Bingo History

According to the Bingo history the game starts its track in the sixteens century, in Italy. The reunification in Italy brought many changes, one of which concerned the initiation of the first national lottery, that was called Lo Giuco del Lotto d'Italia. The lottery became very popular and brought a lot of money to the national treasury.

The next period of bingo history started when the lottery spread in Europe.

Back then the game was still a lottery and was just about to change into Bingo. According to the bingo history, the game came to France and became a lot like bingo as we know it today. The game was played with numbered tokens instead of balls and the only patterns were horizontal rows.

The next period of bingo history brings us to Germany, where the principles of the game were used in education. With the help of bingo rules children were taught maths, history, language, sciences and other subjects. This idea is still used in some educational establishments because the game combines two processes, having fun and studying.

The game according to the bingo history was brought from Germany to America. The game was then called Beano, as beans were used to cover the called numbers. The patterns of vertical and diagonal lines were introduced back then. Edwin Lowe, who played the game, brought it to New York to play with his friends. The game got it name by mistake, as one of the ladies that played the game in excitement screamed out Bingo instead of Beano. The game spread fast in America and was at first known as Lowe's Bingo.

The game was often played in churches as it gave the opportunity to raise funds harmlessly. After that, Edwin Lowe received the task of producing first big series of unique bingo tickets. Soon, according to the bingo history  there were a lot of steps taken to popularize bingo, like the manual and the newsletter.
